Matisse's Trip to Melbourne!

First ever cocktail bar... Still drinking mocktails though!

So,  recently, it was my (Matisse's) 14th birthday! And this year my amazing parents decided that a present suitable for the occasion would be.. Melbourne! The trip consisted of; Shopping, shopping, eating, shopping, drooling, shopping and eating! Because of the weather there wasn't much chance to discover the cultural side of the city but that didnt make the trip any less fabulous! It was a first time for everything; Chanel debut, Mocktails, shopping with a sufficient amount of money, first time in Melbourne! In my opinion, it is one of the most amazing and beautiful places in Australia and I plan on spending huge amounts of my time there ~

Books You Must Read

We are such great fans of books and would be so bored without them because reading is one of the things we do all the time that we love, and can't get enough of. Many people may call us nerdy, but we're proud of it!

These are some of the books that you must read (depending on your age though.... Probably not suitable for .. young children??) ...........
  •  Tomorrow When the War Began (series) -John Marsden

  • Twilight (series) - Stephanie Myer
  • The Host - Stephanie Myer

  • Blue Bloods (series)  - Melissa De La Cruz

  •  Anna and the French kiss - Stephanie Perkins

  • Uglies (trilogy)- Scott Westerfield
  • The Lovely Bones- Alice Sebold
  • The Lumatere chronicals- Melina Marchetta

Lydia's Vintage Revamp Party

It was recently Lydia's 13th birthday (Happy Birthday!). She had a Vintage Revamp Party, and everyone had to bring along a tired or lifeless item to revamp. All sorts of things were brought along: a guitar case, a stack of old books, coathangers, a porcelein doll and Matisse brought an old wooden box that desperately needed help! Lydia decided to revamp some old faux, hard plastic, taxadermy deer heads (.....thats what Tisse said) and some old ties that she made into a gorgeous headband.  Tools and vintage style materials to revamp with were brought along as well as supplied in a studio setting. You'll also notice in all the photos, that everyone who came to the party was given an art apron made from cafe curtains which they could take home! (it's amazing what you can revamp)

Lydia also recieved a sewing machine from her parents for her birthday (a crafty pressie for a crafty party) and not just any sewing machine, an elna, swiss design, model 1000 - 'Ellie' for short
Tisse on the electric sander (look at her go!)
Iced tea anyone? Madame Flavour, Green, Pear and Jasmine tea to be exact.
.....and citrus cheesecake for desert, served with a tropical, madiera and pavlova trifle!

Don't worry! Before and After photos were taken......

Heres a few and just look at the transformations!

At the end of the day it turned out to be an amazing party, the mess speaks for itself....
